A passion for community and an intense interest in knowledge dissemination, specifically how to get information out of silos and into the collective consciousness, caused Julia to be an early adaptor of social media and launch her own communications consultancy. Julia credits her education for helping develop her talent for seeing more than meets the eye and asking the right questions to identify the heart and soul of stories that need to be told.
Julia is a passionate speaker and coach on the topic of strategic communications and social media. With diverse experience across multiple industries, Julia offers a unique & strategic approach to help her clients build stronger brands, customer loyalty and revenues. She has yet to meet anyone else with a background like hers. It keeps things interesting.
Julia holds a BS in Art History from Tulane University in New Orleans, a Diploma in Fine and Decorative Art History from Christie’s London and The Royal Society of Arts, and a MA in The History of Design and Decorative Arts from the Bard Graduate Center in Manhattan. She has worked in museums, auction houses and enjoyed a brief stint getting her hands dirty as a potter. Julia’s experience in the arts allowed her to develop an eye for good design, a strong distaste for mediocre design and a love for exploring new ideas, places and possibilities – all things her clients appreciate about her.
A self-professed Tampa-holic, Julia is the Founder of BrandTampa.com – a Tampa-centric social network. Her interest in historic tourism, tech and getting the word out about local awesomeness most recently manifested itself in the production of Ybor City Ghost Walk – an ipod tour and audio book of Tampa’s historic district.
